Un week-end très chargé

UN WEEK-END TRES CHARGE

Après avoir participé à plusieurs concours en Poitou-Charentes (Melle, Vouneuil sous Biard et Romagne), et suite à leur classement régional, 3 ânesses ont été sélectionnées pour participer le 29 août  au Championnat National à Niort (79).

Mais, nous n’avons amené que Théa et Quassis.

Kiss et son petit Vigilant sont restés tranquillement chez nous. Il y avait 150 animaux inscrits pour participer, avec une météo qui  annonçait une journée très chaude, cela promettait d’être très long et fatiguant. Les deux, étant vendus, je ne voulais pas prendre le risque, qu’il leur arrive quelque chose de regrettable.

Pour Théa, c’était la première fois qu’elle participait à un grand concours : Ce jour là, elle a découvert, la foule, le bruit des hauts parleurs et le bitume sous les sabots. C’était beaucoup de chose à la fois, pour lui détourner l’attention !!!

Une bonne expérience, quand même, elle termine 7^ème sur 9.

Quant à Quassis, très habituée à faire des concours, (elle me suit partout dans n’importe quelle condition), elle a fait une très bonne présentation et termine 5^ème sur 9.

Le lendemain, nous avons emmené Seccotine, pour la présenter devant un jury de 8 personnes, composé par des délégués des Haras Nationaux, de la SABAUD, et de l’Upra mulassière du Poitou, pour le passage au livre A du Stud-book.

4 ânesses sont présentées, 2 sont acceptées, dont Seccotine.

Très contents des résultats sur les 2 jours et un peu fatigués, nous sommes rentrés chez nous.

En route pour le prochain concours! Ce sera à Parthenay (79) pour le Festival de l’élevage et de la Gastronomie, qui se déroulera les 26 et 27 septembre.

A Very Busy Weekend.

After participating at several shows in the Poitou- Charentes region (Melle, Vouneuil sous Biard and Romagne) 3 jennets were selected to enter the National Championship the 29^th of August in Niort (79). They all qualified in the regional shows but we only entered Thea and Quassis.

We decided to leave Kiss and her foal Vigilant at home on the day. They are both sold and the forecast was for a very hot day. There were also around 150 other animals there and we did not want to risk any harm coming to them. We knew it would be a very long day and we were right….it was!

Thea, she was a debutante. It was the first time she had participated in a big show like that.

Lots of spectators, the noise of speakers, and asphalt under your hoofs for the first time in

your life…. all that diverts your attention. A good experience for her anyway. She came in 7^th out of 9.

Then came Quassis, who is very experienced in doing shows, (she follows me everywhere  whatever the circumstances!). She made a very good appearance and came in 5^th out of 9.

The following day 4 jennets were presented before a jury of eight judges (composed by the Haras Nationaux, the SABAUD and the Upra mulassière de Poitou) to decide if they could pass over to the Stud-Book A. Two were accepted, of which Seccotine was one.

We were very pleased with the results over the 2 days and went home happy but very tired.

That is all for now, the next show is in Parthenay (79) for the Festival de l'élevage et de la

Gastronomie and that will take place the 26^th and 27^th of September.
